The economic valuation of ecosystem goods and services is a necessary tool for governments in quantifying Mother Nature, which contributes to directing different economic activities. For this reason, the objective of the article is the diagnosis of ecosystem goods and services in the La Melba community and their economic valuation. The non-standardized interview technique is applied to specialists who investigate the environment, forestry, microbiologists, biologists and hydraulics for the identification of the different goods and services provided by the ecosystem in the La Melba Sector; the benefit transfer method (MTB), which allows reference to the studies carried out by the Agro-Forestry Research Institute of Havana on forest soils with similar characteristics to the La Melba Sector, and the valuation method based on market prices. The above enables local government managers and the La Melba community to know the goods and services provided by the ecosystem and their total economic value of approximately $121 432 99 784, 2696, and also allows them to improve decision-making aimed at the protection and ecosystem conservation.
