NARANJO HERNANDEZ, Laura; MESA MONTERO, Zulema; PEREZ RUMBAUT, Galia  and  AMECHEA GARCIA, Greta. Uterine - Cervical Lesions in Out-of-Program Youth. Rev. Finlay [online]. 2017, vol.7, n.3, pp.207-212. ISSN 2221-2434.

Cervical cancer is one of the most frequent conditions among the worldwide female population. The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of current knowledge about this disease and to highlight the relevance of education in our young people for detection and prevention, since this type of carcinoma has become a serious public health problem. A bibliographic review was carried out and the terms of cervical cancer and adolescents, as well as their equivalents in English language were used for the search; the scientific databases Pubmed, Biomed Central, Medline, Scielo and Google Scholar were consulted; the full texts were obtained from Elsevier and other publishers attached to HINARI. Literature was reviewed in Spanish and English and the search covered a period from 2014 to March 2016, although due to its importance some sources of previous periods were used.

Keywords : uterine cervical neoplasms; adolescent; national health programs.
