Abstract

PRIETO GARCIA, Julio Omar et al. KINETIC-THERMODYNAMIC PARAMETERS OF Pb (II) ION ADSORPTION THROUGH A SYNTHETIC ZEOLITHIC SOLID. cen. az. [online]. 2022, vol.49, n.1, pp. 107-114.  Epub Jan 01, 2022. ISSN 2223-4861.

Introduction:

The solid material obtained from a basic hydrothermal attack on natural zeolite makes it possible to obtain an adsorbent for the Pb2+ ion (ac).

Objective:

To determine the kinetic-thermodynamic parameters that governs the adsorption of lead (II) ions in an artificial zeolite.

Materials and Methods:

Lead (II) solutions concentrations are determined by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. They are used for kinetic and diffusive studies at temperatures of 298 K and 323 K.

Results and Discussion:

The process activation energy is 15.70 kJ/mol. The diffusion coefficients are low. Given the values of free energy, entropy and enthalpy, the process occurs at any temperature.

Conclusions:

The kinetic mechanisms respond to pseudo-first-order adsorption and diffusion prevails in the liquid film.

Keywords : adsorption; kinetics; lead ion; basic hydrothermal synthesis.
