Abstract

RAMIREZ-GONZALEZ, Surey et al. Arsenic Determination by the Molybdenum Blue Method in Water Samples from a Gold Minerals Processing Plant. Rev Cub Quim [online]. 2017, vol.29, n.1, pp. 3-12. ISSN 2224-5421.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment for the removal of arsenic in liquid waste generated by a gold minerals treatment plant from the central region. The Molybdenum blue method by spectrophotometric visible ultraviolet (UV) was used. Certain performance parameters were determined such as linearity, quantification limit, detection limit and precision. All evaluated validation parameters met the regulated requirements, ensuring greater reliability in the analytical laboratory work. Finally, it was shown that although the method is effective for metals precipitation does not remove entirely the arsenic.

Keywords : arsenic; molybdenum blue; characterization; waste; validation.
