Abstract

ALVARADO ALVAREZ, Hugo Javier et al. Behavior of productive indicators in ceba of two lines of machos Broilers, in three different densities in the area of Babahoyo. Rev. prod. anim. [online]. 2019, vol.31, n.3, pp. 59-67.  Epub Dec 15, 2019. ISSN 2224-7920.

Background:

The objective of the work was to evaluate the productive behavior in the fattening of two lines of Broilers with different densities in the Babahoyo area.

Methods:

We used 300 male Broilers Ross 308 and COBB 500 at day of age (150 for each line), in an open-type na-ve with a multifactorial design, the factors studied were: the lines, forms of presentation of the food ( flour and palletizing) and population densities (12, 13 and 14 chickens / m2). The experimental unit was 25 animals. The main effects were analyzed with the initial weight as a covariate.

Results:

In relation to weight, the three factors were significant, except for the line in week 2 and the feeding in weeks 5 and 6, while the density was significant only in week 4. For weekly consumption the line was significant in weeks 4 and 6, feeding in all weeks minus 5 and 6 and the density in week four. Finally, in the case of feed conversion, the line was significant in weeks 3 and 6 and feeding in week 3, finally the density was not significant in any week.

Conclusions:

The two lines showed a similar productive behavior at 42 days, adequate final weights and efficient feed conversion were obtained, which demonstrates the permissibility of the increase of broiler chickens in the house under tropical conditions, using flour to reduce costs of production.
