ARAGON BARREDA, Yaniel Lázaro; GONZALEZ HERRERA, Carlos Yordan; HERNANDEZ SOCARRAS, Ortelio F.  and  HERNANDEZ LUQUE, Eylin. Tool for relational database learning.. Rev cuba cienc informat [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.3, pp.163-176. ISSN 2227-1899.

The University of Informatics Sciences is a higher education center with the main goal of training professionals in the field of information and communication technologies. To achieve this goal, it incorporates the Learning and Knowledge Technologies into the teaching process, using the advantages of e-learning. As part of the University curriculum, there is the subject Database Systems I, in which the skills to design and implement relational databases are taught. Currently, students have difficulties in developing these skills, and one of the main causes is the lack of self-preparation through the use of educational technologies. The aim of this research is to develop an educational platform to support the teaching-learning process of the subject. To this end, an analysis of the theoretical foundations of the skills is carried out, and a study of the existing technologies used in their development is shown. In addition, an evaluation is made of how the tool contributes to student training and assists the teacher in evaluating and monitoring the individual development of learners.

Keywords : design; e-learning; implementation; learning and knowledge technologies; relational databases; self-preparation.
