DIAZ SUAREZ, Yamila; JUNCO VAZQUEZ, Tomás Orlando  and  RUIZ GONZALEZ, María de los Ángeles. Document management system for the Master´s Degree in Information Management at UH. Rev cuba cienc informat [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.4, pp. 29-44.  Epub Dec 01, 2021. ISSN 2227-1899.

Universities are organizations that generate a large volume of information, even more with the rapid development of information technologies where documentary production goes beyond a simple paper document to become "tons" of digital information. This situation makes Document Management Systems (DMS) to arise with the objective of allowing, from an economic point of view, a significant reduction in costs of human and material resources. The research permitted to define the bases for the implementation of an electronic document management system for the Master's Degree in Information Management. This project belongs to the UNESCO Chair in Information Management in Organizations at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Havana. A set of theoretical-conceptual and normative referents about document management was obtained. Different research methods and techniques are used (interview, data flow diagram, cause-effect diagram, observation and SWOT). Also, the MOPIG methodology (Model for the implementation of Document Management) and the Board indicators of National Accreditation for a master's program, allowed the realization of the document management diagnosis. The design and implementation of the customization for the document management system on the Alfresco Community Business Content Manager 5.2.f was carried out. As a result, it allows the systematic control, access and use of the documentation derived from the Master’s degree in Information Management.

Keywords : alfresco; customization; document management; master’degree in information management.
