Introduction: digital transformation represents a strategy that allows improving processes and being more efficient in the use of resources. It allows providing health information to diagnose, monitor and treat patients, which improves the quality of professional care and guarantees greater effectiveness. The digital tools available today increase patient empowerment and improve involvement in decision-making about health and disease control. Objective: to carry out a systematic review of the literature on the digital transformation of hospitals that allows facing the paradigm shift in the computerization of health. Method: the methodology used was the systematic review composed of three fundamental activities: planning of the review; development of the review; selection of sources. Analysis and integration of the information: a systematic review of the literature was carried out where the most relevant studies were selected from a total of 471 studies, 20 articles were selected, through the use of a set of search keywords, inclusion criteria / exclusion and assessment of study quality. The data extraction and synthesis process and taxonomic classification are used to answer the research questions. Conclusions: this research work will allow to identify the state of the digital transformation of hospitals with digitization to face the paradigm shift in health informatization.
