Abstract

ALEMAN DE LA TORRE, Leisy; PADILLA AGUIAR, Daimeé  and  CUEVAS CASAS, Carlos Modesto. Diagnostics of Logistics Processes for Decision-Making in Biotech Companies. Rev retos [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.2, pp.182-202.  Epub Sep 10, 2019. ISSN 2306-9155.

The purpose of this paper is to diagnose the operation of logistics processes to produce scientific knowledge for better decision-making in bitechnological companies. This study was conducted at the Center of Molecular Immunology, a Cuban biotech institution engaged in research-development, production, and sale of products to treat cancer and other autoimmune diseases. Several documents issued by the institution and the biotech sector, as well as related national and international literature, were consulted. Other methods included interviews to evaluate the state of logistics, and expert criteria, using the Delphi technique. The logistics process was evaluated through three models that comprised the main results of research: a reference model of competitive logistics for diagnosis and projection of competitive development of its logistics internationally, a general organizational model for analysis and arrangement of logistics systems, and a model of process assurance for contrasting contents in process management at strategic, tactical, and operational levels. The implementation of these models improved and integrated logistics process management to offer better services to biotechnological company clients.
