Abstract

BOLANO RODRIGUEZ, Yuniel; RICARDO PEREZ, Yoandra; YAMILY MANSITO REYES, Barbara  and  VICHOT LLANO, Mónica. Evaluation of Competitiveness in the Oceanographic Research Service Based on Compensatory Fuzzy Logic. Rev retos [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.2, pp.203-221.  Epub Sep 11, 2019. ISSN 2306-9155.

The competitiveness of oceanographic research was evaluated through mathematical modeling based on Compensatory Fuzzy Logic (CFL). A theoretical analysis of competitiveness and oceanographic research services was made, which brought up new elements for evaluation of competitiveness in services such as human capital and its performance, technology use, products offered through services and economic management derived from services. The CFL mathematical modeling concluded that competitiveness of oceanographic research services was the final compound predicate; it was evaluated with 4 compound predicates and 14 simple predicates. The compound predicates coincided with the previously mentioned elements. Some simple predicates were qualitative and quantitative; the qualitative predicates were obtained from a designed checklist, and the quantitative ones were obtained from indicators measured in the organization. The mathematical modeling equations utilized the AND operator, which works with the geometric means. The internal operations of this theory facilitated the transformation of a real value scale of simple predicates into a truth scale [0; 1], which is compatible with CFL. The results showed that the competitiveness of the service is more false than true, thus the most influential compound predicates were competent human capital and custom-made service.

Keywords : competitiveness; evaluation of competitiveness; oceanographic services; compensatory fuzzy logic.
