To present a procedure for the planning of the human resources of the hotel accommodation process with a strategic prospective approach.


Analysis and synthesis to obtain information from the review of the literature and documentation on human resources planning and prospective planning. Structural systemic to develop the analysis of human resources planning through its decomposition into the elements that comprise it.

Main results:

A procedure for the strategic prospective planning of the human resources of the hotel accommodation process was presented. The prospective methods included structural analysis and the cross-impact method.


The procedure brought new qualities to human resource planning. The use of tools associated with strategic foresight in the field of human resources made it possible to consider the possible future events that could misalign the forecasts of the workforce calculation. It was a novelty to be able to determine in advance for the desired scenario the number of personnel with the required skills that tourism entities will need for their efficient performance.
