Abstract

This article defines Education for Sustainable Development as a basis for environmentalization processes specifically in the context of Latin American universities. It takes as a starting point for analysis, the prospect of sociological science and education, moving at all times between specific issues of educational environment and their conditions and social effects. With an eye on the inclusion of the environmental dimension in education throughout the article the implications of his inauguration brings to both teachers and learners are revealed. Redeems the resulting benefits in the process of learning and civic education.
