This article describes and analyzes an educational work experience with women's cooperatives in Chiriquí, Panama, carried out by FLACSO Cuba-IPACOOP and EAES. It addresses aspects such as the growth of self-esteem for the projective capacity in the personal, work and family life of women; the corporate diagnosis of cooperatives; participation in the social economy and the practice of social and environmental responsibility. The work culminates with a proposal of transformations for the work with the empowerment of women, through cooperativism, in contexts of patriarchal domination.
