Abstract

The article presented is the result of theoretical discussions that emerged from the creation of the research area "Social inequalities and political equity", of the FLACSO-Cuba Program, where the multiplicity of views and disciplines has enriched the debate, motivated by the expansion of social inequalities in Cuba in recent decades. In the first place an approximation to the current Cuban context is presented, then different theoretical referents about social inequalities, poverty, social exclusion, social and environmental vulnerability, social policies for inclusion and equity are analyzed, as far as their pertinence for the reality Cuban.
