Abstract

SALINAS-REYNA, Idalia María  and  GARCIA ANCIRA, Claudia. Theoretical Basis for a Management Strategy for a Socially Responsible Training. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2019, vol.7, n.3, e04.  Epub Oct 21, 2019. ISSN 2308-0132.

The following review article presents social responsibility management aimed at universities. The sources consulted for this review include the origins of social responsibility since the first ethical treaties such as the Zarathustra Gathas and the Nicomaco Ethic of Aristotle. Different concepts of social responsibility proposed by businessmen from the 60s are presented, who began to question themselves about the benefit that their corporations brought to society, beyond the economic profitability. Subsequently, the contributions of academics on social responsibility and finally the adoption of the concept to the university are observed. The article shows the characterization of university social responsibility oriented to four essential processes (management, training, knowledge production and social participation) for sustainable development and based on social and environmental needs.

Keywords : social responsibility; university; management.
