Abstract

ARIAS GUEVARA, María de los Ángeles. A Different View for the Other Economy ‒ When the Lens Comes to Us from Other Feminisms. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.3  Epub Dec 10, 2020. ISSN 2308-0132.

The objective of this article is to understand the ways in which expressions of solidarity economy, agro-ecological practices and care for nature are articulated in the life experiences of the women of the Contestado settlement in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Epistemic support is provided by contributions from feminist economics, care studies, ecofeminism and southern feminisms. The methodology makes use of narrative interviews to show how other forms of economy led by women emerge from the margins and silences of the system. These dissident practices have at their core the social reproduction of life and a friendly relationship with nature, a process that resignifies trajectories while addressing gender discriminatory conditions.

Keywords : solidarity economy; experience-agency; agro-ecological practices.
