Abstract

DIAZ FARINAS, Lázaro; PLAZA MACIAS, Nila  and  MEDINA VALDES, Zoe. The Relationship between the System of Capitalist Contradictions and the Popular and Solidarity Economy in Ecuador (2007-2017). Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.3  Epub Dec 10, 2020. ISSN 2308-0132.

In this paper, the influence of the popular and solidarity economy (EPS) is exposed in order to attenuate the harmful socio-economic effects resulting from the action of the system of contradictions inherent to capitalism in Ecuador. The central axis of the work is to show the main socioeconomic indicators prior to the Citizens' Revolution and the subsequent results obtained with the application of the EPS conception, highlighting in a selective way the dialectic of three contradictions: between capital and labor; between accumulation and consumption, and between economic development and social development. Emphasis is placed on the critical analysis of the socioeconomic results of the EPS in relation to the manifestation of the dialectic of the contradictions of capitalism.

Keywords : socio-economic development; inequality; poverty.
