Abstract
JIMENEZ GUETHON, Reynaldo Miguel; ALVAREZ CRUZ, Jagger and HIDALGO LOPEZ CHAVEZ, Vilma. A Systematizing Approach to Studies on Participation and Equity in Cuba. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.1 Epub Apr 01, 2021. ISSN 2308-0132.
The participatory culture of Cuban society, has been fostered, sustainably, since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, there are diverse experiences that account for this. The Cuban Revolution was constituted as a social project with a high level of popular convocation, which created the essential conditions and foundations for strengthening the mechanisms and institutions of political participation and partner. Participation is legitimized as a right to exercise power in a given scenario, either directly or mediated by representatives, provided that the latter can be democratically controlled. The breadth and sometimes ambiguity with which participation has been worked has aroused debates that call into question its operational and instrumental usefulness, whether the type of participation to which reference is referred, in line with the political, economic, community, cultural, etc., or on the micro or macro scale is not clearly defined and specifically specified. This work shows the research results that were obtained after a systematization on participation in the period 2008-2018, which showed different gaps for social participation in Cuba.
