Abstract

The theory of social identities revolutionized social psychology, giving a less individualistic character to the conception of Groups; contemporary group phenomena such as discrimination, xenophobia, were questioned. The article that is presented shows a bibliometric study of the term, between 2000 and 2019, on the Web of Science and SciELO platforms. It offers guidance regarding the topicality of the subject, reference authors, research topics geographical areas where the research takes place and universities in leadership. Indirectly, it invites us to rethink insertion in the digital world.
