At present, digital integrates all information formats (text, audio, video, graphics, photographs, animations) on the same medium. This multimediality favors convergence. Newspapers, magazines, radio stations, television channels and movies have been integrated into the same support along with new services. This text explores some of the characteristics of radio and television in a context of media convergence. It identifies some of the communicational, socio-technical and generic transformations that are manifested today, as well as the influences of the digital processes in the new journalistic productive routines. It is based epistemologically on the interpretative paradigm of research that seeks to understand, describe and interpret the reality related to the object of study. It is assumed the inductive procedure, which allows to establish a close interpretive relationship with the object of study.
