Abstract

GUTIERREZ DE LA TORRE, Silvia Eunice  and  MENDEZ, Talia. Towards a best practice guide for digital projects in Libraries and Archives: a case study from Latin America. ARCIC [online]. 2021, vol.10, n.25, pp. 29-48.  Epub Apr 01, 2021. ISSN 2411-9970.

This article presents the results of the first systematic investigation of Digital Humanities (HD) projects in Libraries and Archives of Latin America using two innovative practices: #BitácoraHD and the two versions of the Red de Humanidades Digitales (RedHD) checklist. The first is an instrument based on the classic ethnographic detailed field notes but with an explicit dialogue from an interdisciplinary perspective that the authors consider crucial for HD. On the other hand, the RedHD checklists are used as an instrument to understand the characteristics of HD library and archive projects. We close the article with a series of reflections towards the construction of robust and critical HD projects for our region as well as new perspectives for new iterations of measurement instruments.
