Abstract

The investigation starts with a theoretical approach to the audiovisual document particularities as an informational object. Although, defines metadata as a tool for description of information resources, specifically, audiovisual documents and its production, use, maintenance and access through digital environments. Then, the characteristics of the “Fidel Castro Ruz” audiovisual collection and their documental treatment in the archival context of the Oficina de Asuntos Históricos, are analyzed using the ethnographic of the archive method. Finally, a metadata scheme is proposed to allow a better arrangement and representation of the “Fidel Castro Ruz” audiovisual collection under their correspondence with their audiovisual documents and archival context characteristics.
