Introduction:

Although it is the responsibility of nations to conserve, protect and guard their cultural heritage, this responsibility must reach the different entities that may be related to said heritage. With this conception, as of 2012, at the Universidad de Oriente, a Project is being carried out with a line focused on the rescue and conservation of handwritten documents and it was necessary to communicate all this documentation.

Objective:

Explain how the patrimonial communication of the archive documents of the eastern region of Cuba, rescued and preserved within the research project "Social and humanistic sciences and Architecture facing the contemporary challenges of local development in Santiago de Cuba was carried out . Enhancing the heritage”.

Methods:

The research was based on qualitative methodology and the hermeneutic paradigm, with the use of mixed methods and techniques typical of this method, emphasizing the historical-logical, induction-deduction, analytical-synthetic.

Results:

after having cataloged and analyzed 358 handwritten documents, and conforming a corpus with 78 of them, there was a gap related to the enhancement of that intervened documentary heritage. This was solved through the patrimonial communication of the more general work results, structured in two levels: the first, with the outputs of phase I of the project; and the second, focused on the incorporation of the information from the DONOC corpus in the Web Platform for the management of the Cultural heritage of the Eastern region of Cuba, with the purpose of having a better relationship with the beneficiaries and a greater projection.

Conclusions:

The objective has been fulfilled since it explains how technological resources that contribute to the conservation and communication of a part of the documentary heritage treasured in three provincial historical archives of the eastern region of Cuba are managed through the web platform and it is demonstrated that it is relevant work of this type.
