Introduction:
Technological advances make emerging resources available to educational agents, which require the development of basic competencies or skills by students and pose a challenge for the entire educational community, which contributes to improving learning. In this context, media competence becomes a key thread within the substantive processes that are developed in universities to promote a responsible, efficient and democratic use of media resources by citizens.
Objective:
Develop media competence in university students.
Methods:
22 teachers were taken as a universe and 11 teachers as a sample, which represented 50% of the total population chosen. Methods and procedures of the theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical level were applied for its development.
Results:
The didactic strategy that was presented, containing actions, contributed to the development of media competence in the digital environment of university students.
Conclusions:
The theoretical analysis carried out reveals the existing epistemological inconsistencies in the teaching-learning process that contribute to the development of media competence. The proposed strategy favors the improvement of scientific-methodological and teaching-methodological work for its practical implementation in the university, as well as aesthetic values and feelings of love and respect towards the country, family, society and their peers. in the Bachelor of Education Spanish-Literature career.
