Abstract
GARCIA LESCAILLE, Tania. Challenges of the Emilio Bacardí Moreau Museum to communicate its documentary heritage: digitization, evaluation and socialization. ARCIC [online]. 2022, vol.11, n.30, pp. 123-134. Epub Dec 01, 2022. ISSN 2411-9970.
Museums develop new models of interaction with the public based on the constant improvement of their management aimed at providing an efficient, multidimensional, inclusive and democratic service. For this reason, they venture into information and communication technologies, the digitization process being fundamental and very useful for working with archival documents. This experience, put into practice in the "Emilio Bacardí Moreau" provincial museum, located in Santiago de Cuba, has been significant, since it leads to the preservation of the documentary heritage and creates the bases for its valorization and better socialization. The digitization work was the starting point to venture into other aspects related to the vitality that the museum must guarantee in relation to its heritage. That is why it is intended to analyze from a critical-evaluative perspective the synergy that is established between the use of technology, the evaluation of documents and the level of socialization of the archive, made up of a wide collection of writings and photographs. This research is inserted in one of the prioritized lines of the International Project between Belgian Universities and the Universidad de Oriente: VLIR Project.
