HERNANDEZ MARTINEZ, Marta Amelia et al. Familiar educative intervention in parents of children with manifestations of aggressiveness: Adolescent clinic. Acta méd centro [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.4, pp. 570-579.  Epub Dec 31, 2021. ISSN 2709-7927.

Introduction:

child aggressiveness is one of the main complaints of parents and educators. From the age of eight years old, if there is an emotional and motivational deficit as a result of family problems, aggressive behaviors may be manifested.

Objective:

desarrollar una propuesta de intervención familiar psicoeducativa a partir de la identificación de necesidades en padres de adolescentes de 12 a 15 años de edad diagnosticados con trastornos neuróticos en la Clínica del adolescente.

Methods:

descriptive, cross-sectional, pre-experimental study. The population consisted in 39 parents of 27 children evaluated by the Diagnostic and Orientation Center without psychiatric disorder and with manifestations of family aggression. The sample consisted of 14 subjects, through a non-probabilistic purposive sampling. The diagnostic methods used were the family interview and the questionnaire. It was applied from January to April 2009, after evaluation by external evaluators. The independent variable was the family educational intervention and the dependent variable was knowledge about aggressive behavior.Modification of the intervention was considered significant or very significant: ≥60%. The SPSS version 20 statistical package was used to process the data.

Results:

showed very significant or significant changes in most of the indicators that made up the level of knowledge.

Conclusions:

parents were unaware of aspects related to manifestations of aggressive behavior. The external evaluators offered positive opinions on the proposed intervention which, once developed, enhanced changes in the level of knowledge.
