Abstract

MARTIN POZO, Yordán; PEREZ FLEITES, Damarys  and  BETANCOURT PEREZ, Amelia. Pyoderma gangrenosum. Case report. Acta méd centro [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.4, pp. 612-617.  Epub Dec 31, 2021. ISSN 2709-7927.

Introduction:

pyoderma gangrenosum is an acute or chronic debilitating skin disease. It is an alteration with a wide spectrum in terms of its presentation. Its low frequency means that few cases are reported. There are very few reports regarding this disease with aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Patient information:

a 38 year-old white female patient with a previous health history presented symptoms of pyoderma gangrenosum after a skin graft at the right leg level, with favorable evolution after the established treatment and without recurrence of the disease.

Conclusions:

the interesting aspect of the case is that it shows the skin lesions observed in this rare disease after a skin graft; early diagnosis and timely treatment are important to prevent the progression of the disease.

Keywords : pyoderma gangrenosum; diagnosis.
