Abstract

TRUJILLO LEMES, Maximiliano. Don Quixote between Cuba and the clouds. UH [online]. 2015, n.280, pp. 23-30. ISSN 0253-9276.

Don Quixote and his context become pretext to go over his authenticity and impact on the Cuban and Latin American spaces, in terms of the circumstances in which the great novel was written, this fundamental play of the Hispanic literature and art, and to think about the differences and identities of its leading characters, true icons not only of the superior Spanish Renaissance culture, but also of the imaginary of the popular Hispanic American culture. A symbiosis is established among these characters and situations, or great personalities of the most contemporary life in Cuba, and it is concluded that, from Don Quixote, Latin America has to do and to think itself.

Keywords : Quixotism; Spain; Latin america; Cervantes; Jorge Mañach.
