Abstract

Departing from the novel The mimic men, of the Trinita- rian writer V. S. Naipaul, the author makes an approach of colonial relationships and historic-cultural dependence, between the Caribbean and the English metropolis. Also focuses the figure of the Caribbean being, intellectual or politic, from his condition of mimic man of the metropolitan mainstream; the main objective is to outline the most distinctive traces of its identity.
