The mean objective of this work is to made a bibliographical review about technologies used for management of rainwater harvesting, which has been implemented in different times and places on the planet. For a better understanding two moments have been chosen: before and after the XX century, also reference about Cuba has been treated appart from the rest of the world. This text shows that technological development improved available techniques and increased different uses for this resource.
