Abstract

GONZALEZ TRUJILLO, Mayelin; BEIRA FONTAINE, Eduardo; ALVAREZ RODRIGUEZ, Odalys  and  QUIALA ORTIZ, Elio. Methodology for modeling the process of the capillarity-deterioration relationship in buildings. Arquitectura y Urbanismo [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.2, pp. 74-84. ISSN 1815-5898.

This article describes the results of an investigation concerning the capillarity-deterioration relationship in buildings by starting from the systematic analysis of existing methodologies. A primary goal links the traditional methods of humidity studies due to capillarity with those of space modeling of scenarios of danger and vulnerability. In turn, the work revales a pattern of scenarios of deterioration generated by this type of humidity, by using GIS (Geographical Information Systems). Theoretical and empirical methods were applied, highlighting the introduction of a method of spatial modeling and identifying significant variables in the capillarity-deterioration process, as well as danger, vulnerability and deterioration models.

Keywords : humidity capillarity; sceneries of deterioration; space modelling; GIS.
