Abstract

Is presented a procedure for the fabrication of the composite material with epoxy as matrix reinforced with henequen fibers, long and random. Was designed and fabricated six molds of box type for the manufacture of the plates using cold pressing procedure. Was make 37 plates with 0, 6, 9, 12, 16, 22, 26 and 28 % of fiber´s inclusions in mass relation. The inclusion of the reinforcements was making manually and the obtained materials was submitted to a process of cure bellow 70ºC during 24 hours. The obtained specimens showed a good quality being free of defects and guarantee the correct distribution of the fibers. The fabrication method is de adequate for plates with small and large quantities of fiber.
