Abstract

TERRY ALFONSO, Elein et al. Agronomic tomato crop response to bioproduct QuitoMax®. cultrop [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.1, pp. 147-154. ISSN 1819-4087.

The bioactive products, have various beneficial effects on plants, such as, induction of defense mechanisms and stimulation of plant growth, besides it having the advantage of not being harmful to plants and the environment; the oligosaccharines and inside them the chitosan and its derivatives are an example, they exert positive effect on growth and development of plants. This work was carried in field condition with the overall objective of  evaluating the effect of different concentrations (0,1, 0,5 and 1,0 g L-1), and its application by imbibition and foliar spray product QuitoMax® on growth, development and yield and its components of tomato (cultivar Mara). The results showed a positive effect of byproduct from the seeds imbibition on concentration of 1,0 g L-1 stimulating growth variables that were evaluated in the nursery; moreover, the combination soaking plus foliar spray at a dose of 0,3 g ha-1 at 7 days after transplantation, stimulated yield components of plants and increased crop yields by 55 % compared to control treatment

Keywords : biostimulant; growth; chitosan; yield; Solanum lycopersicum.
