Abstract

Introduction:

"Teen No Man's Land" is an old sentence, and it is not far from reality, it is boy or girl and adult at the same time, it is the awakening of sexuality, responsibility and fitness towards life, but it is also a period full of complications and even more when love is mixed with couples sex.

Objective:

to know the level of knowledge about pregnancy, childbirth and abortion of male adolescents.

Method:

a quasi-experimental prospective intervention study was conducted with 420 male adolescents from schools: Técnica" General Milanés" and the "Polytechnic Vitalio Acuña" of the Bayamo municipality in Granma province, between the ages of 15 and 19, they were surveyed anonymously in the period September 2018 to June 2019 at their respective study centres and different variables were analyzed.

Results:

55% of males had already had multiple partners, 76% had pregnant one or more times, 83% of these pregnancies ended up in abortions, 58% responded correctly about the concept of abortion, 61% are protected or at least know the use of the condom to avoid pregnancy, 50% know about the risks, but 42% have a false perception of the risk of abortion and pregnancy for the female , 48% choose to tell their parents in the event of pregnancy or abortion, but 52% prefer to leave the problem to the girl or resolve by alternative means.

Conclusions:

at the early onset of sexual intercourse in adolescent males, there is a false perception of the risk of pregnancy, childbirth and abortion, the consequences for male are minimal.
