Abstract
ROJAS LEON, Alejandro and LEON MENDEZ, Alcides J.. One cycle labyrinth spillway as an upstream regulator in open channels. riha [online]. 2016, vol.37, n.3, pp. 89-102. ISSN 1680-0338.
The labyrinth spillway as an upstream regulator is a hydraulic structure that, regardless of the flow rate, can keepits upstream level fairly constant within acceptable bounds. This study demonstrates that there is a variation in the discharge coefficient and in the free dumping limit, as a function of the location of the work with respect to the canal flow direction: apex upstream or apex downstream. This variation has significant importance for the design and operation of this work, which by its structural simplicity and easy hydraulic design, is a convenient regulatory solution for supply systems to canal networkusers.
