The present work aims at exposing the history of public health in San Fernando de Camarones, which dates back to the time when the primitive inhabitants lived on the island. The study was divided into the following stages of Cuban history: health In the nineteenth century, health until the 1950s and health after 1959. For this, a historical research was conducted with a review of unpublished documents and the interview to personal sources. The work allowed characterizing the most significant aspects of public health in the locality, to keep alive this historical memory.
