Abstract

PANEQUE PEREZ, Luís Ángel; KINDELAN CASTELLANOS, Liliana  and  COPA REY, José Ramón. Identification of environmental topics in Victoria’s community, Santiago de Cuba. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.1, pp. 65-71. ISSN 2071-0054.

The research was carried out in Victoria´s community, which is located in the south side of the Gran Piedra mountain, 27 km away from Santiago de Cuba city. Research work started with the identification of flora and fauna species and the register of weather factors in the selected areas, through samplings, using the transaction method. Later on, the physical-chemical components of water were analyzed in the process of power generation in the micro hydroelectric that offers its service to the community, according to the instructions for water supervising in the hydroelectric resorts and the identification of Cuban pattern NC 93:11:86. The results of the research allowed the identification of flora and fauna’s species providing relevant information for future reforestation projects, reduction of environmental risk and the rational profit of natural resources. Besides, it was proved that the power generation doesn’t change the water’s physical-chemical components and allows its return to the environment in its original condition, for the consumption of the community ´s inhabitants.

Keywords : environment; flora and fauna; evaluation of the waters; hydroelectric facilities.
