Abstract

SALTOS CRUZ, Juan Gabriel; MAYORGA DIAZ, Mónica Patricia  and  RUSO ARMADA, Frida. The People and Solidarity Economy: : an Exploratory Study of Ecuador's System with Focus on Control and Supervision. Cofin [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.2, pp. 55-75. ISSN 2073-6061.

Starting from what has been stated in the Magna Carta of the Republic of Ecuador (2008), an exploratory analysis referred to the solidary popular economy in this country is carried out. Due to the lack of information about the new adopted trend, Control and Supervision Organism on this matter (Superintendence of Solidary and Popular Economy), has started an active training policy within the popular and solidary financial sectors. The Ecuadorean case has followed the trend of Latin American countries by recognizing solidary and popular economy organizations. This has created a greater importance during the last years to Sumak Kausay (good living) which is an incentive and much has yet to be done to this respect.

Keywords : good living; solidarity; money.
