Abstract

The topic approached in the present article has come up from the difficulties detected in some of the theses defended in the Central Region of Cuba to obtain PhD in Pedagogical Sciences in which the mixed approach of the research has been declared. In subsequent debates occurred in the Post doctorate and Postgraduate courses carried out in the University of Pedagogical Sciences "Félix Varela", Villa Clara, the participants offered controversial opinions about such an approach and the interest to deepen on the topic in order contribute to the improvement of Cuban educational research. The principal results of the systematization process developed by the authors are presented, as well as their reflections and opinions, with the intention not to be conclusive but to stimulate further debates within the context of the scientific community in the territory.
