Abstract

The tourist diagnosis is a fundamental tool for planning destinations or tourist products, it can be made, using different methodologies. This task is developed on base of a systematic model, which considers each component of the tourist activity, as an interrelated subsystem to be identified and diagnosed. Qualitative and quantitative methods have been used for this research, which were collected during the field investigation, as well as participatory workshops with the community and a consumer survey, all of them allow to know the reality of the product and its shortcomings, to get how to improve it.This tourist product is located in Chimborazo Province and it is developed around the experience of the community tourism, where women have a predominant role and the tourism has become into an important source of foreign exchange.
