Abstract

This paper presents a research study, aimed at selecting a procedure of Cleaner Production for the Obdulio Morales slaughterhouse that counted of 5 phases, those that were approached at work in a cycle of continuous improvement. This was applied with the objective of identifying Cleaner Production options, to control water consumption and reducing emissions to the environment. An analysis of the process is carried out identifying the main environmental problems and measures that were divided into little or no financing and of greater investment for their solution. With the implementation of the Cleaner Production procedure, the options of little or no financing achieved savings of $ 27 511.00 CUP per year. In those with the highest investment, a profit of $ 2 307 537.44 CUP was obtained with an investment of only $ 1 305 287.50 CUP in the same period of time.
