Abstract
ALCOCER QUINTEROS, Patricio Rubén; CEVALLOS MUNOZ, Omar and KNUDSEN GONZALEZ, José. Improvement of the integral management of urban solid waste in the Quevedo canton, Ecuador. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.5, pp. 362-367. Epub Dec 03, 2019. ISSN 2218-3620.
The purpose of this work is to design a mathematical model with a multi-objective approach to improve the integral management of the supply chain of the urban solid waste collection process in the canton of Quevedo in Ecuador. The proposed model resolves inadequacies in the scientific literature and proposes to generate information for the decision making by the authorities of the canton of Quevedo. To achieve this, a diagnosis is made of the current conditions of the process of collecting, transporting, transferring and treating urban solid waste, then identifying the indicators that will serve to measure the current management of the process of urban solid waste collection, and later a multi objective mathematical model is elaborated in which three objective functions are posed whose goal is the optimization of the problem, considering a series of restrictions. The result is based on redesigning the supply chain for the management of urban solid waste, achieving minimizing the cost, maximizing the environmental impact savings and maximizing customer satisfaction.
