Abstract

The objective of the work is to investigate community tourism in Latin America in order to understand that it is an activity whose genesis goes back more than two decades, however, the bases that reveal the birth of community tourism whose purpose was to solve the economic crisis, unemployment and low income of the inhabitants where the community organization stands out. For this, it is necessary to formulate principles that constitute the axis to articulate tourism projects, which is why elements such as: part of a broad call are taken into account, where there is a participatory formulation of projects with vision, where respect for the diversity and gender equity allow to reach the sustainability of the tourism project. A third moment is given by the genesis of community projects and their benefits, where, the projects are transformed into a tool that seeks to use the resources of the community, in addition to being an element that helps to reduce poverty and stimulate the increase in sources of employment for the benefit of the community.
