Abstract

CASTILLO JURADO, Washington  and  CASTRO FERNANDEZ, Miguel. Analysis of the possible impact of environmental contamination on the electrical networks of the Manta-Montecristi region. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.4, pp. 531-539.  Epub Aug 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

At present it is very difficult to locate any social activity where the use of electrical energy is not necessary; However, on many occasions when talking about the negative impact that energy activity has on society, they do not analyze, or at least mention, the negative technical impacts that pollution derived from the action of natural sources of pollution has on electricity networks, such as the sea and soils or intensive industrial activity, an impact that can lead to instability of the electricity service provided, and therefore, inconvenience to the population and economic losses in the productive sector. In this paper, the main elements that support the need to evaluate the possible impact that the proximity of the sea may have, as well as some main industries that discharge their pollutants into the atmosphere.

Keywords : Enviromental pollution; Faults; Electrical network; Economic impact; Social impact.
