Sustainable supply chain management as a contribution to economic and social development. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.5, pp. 427-440.  Epub Oct 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The high levels of competition in international markets is forcing companies to initiate more integrated relationships for the exchange of information, materials and resources with suppliers and customers, using innovative approaches that jointly benefit all actors in the supply chain. In this competitive environment, the development of science, technology and innovation is one of the most influential factors in contemporary society, and one of the challenges facing organizations in the future is to achieve sustainability throughout the chain. The objective is to analyze the key elements for the management of sustainability in supply chains from a science, technology and innovation approach as a contribution to Cuban economic and social development. Theoretical methods are used, such as synthesis, historical-logical, systemic and inductive-deductive analysis, and empirical methods such as observation, interview and document consultation. The main results obtained are an integrating concept of sustainability management in supply chains, as well as the transdisciplinary relations and the multidimensional approach of the same, as a necessary aspect for economic and social development.
