Abstract

In the present work, the design and manufacture of a horizontal machine was carried out, for the tensile test of low loads in biomaterials, which will be used for Tissue Engineering (IT), mainly natural and synthetic polymers. It was made an assessment of the characteristics of this type of machines, the tensile test itself, as well as the properties of the materials to be tested, and thus make the correct decisions to make the corresponding design. In the design proposal, which was executed using Autodesk Inventor 2018 software, it was also taken into account that a machine is required that allows the testing of biological materials to be tested under biodegradation conditions. Once the design of each of the mechanical elements was defined, their validation was carried out through a simulation of the real load conditions by the Finite Element Method with the commercial software Ansys Workbench 16.0 (Canonsburg, PA, USES). The work culminated in the construction of the tensile testing machine.
