Abstract

SALDANA OROZCO, Claudia; FIERROS LARA, Adriana Lorena  and  MADRIGAL TORRES, Rosalba. Prevalence of stress symptoms in university students in confinement. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.4, pp. 285-293.  Epub Aug 30, 2023. ISSN 2218-3620.

The objective of the research was to identify the symptoms associated with stress present in university students, a cross-sectional descriptive non-experimental study, with a sample of 1134 students in the 19 degrees of different shifts and degrees offered in a university center in the southern area of Jalisco, in the 2021 period of confinement. The results found in the research were: 43% of the study population presents pathological stress and 56.65% eustress, which is found in 62.57% of women and 37.42% of men, these differences are statistically significant with a value of P<0.0000. A participation of 13.89% of the total population was obtained and it is highlighted that female students reported higher rates of pathological stress. We can conclude that stress is an obstacle to the professional development of students. It is necessary that both universities and administrative staff and teachers add.
