Abstract

ZHURBENKO, Raisa et al. Toward Technological Categorization from the Perspective of a High-Tech Company. Rev retos [online]. 2021, vol.15, suppl.1, pp. 1-26.  Epub Dec 15, 2021. ISSN 2306-9155.

Aim:

To project actions in favor of the technological potential of a high technology company based on performance analysis and the constraints of technological categorization. This process will rely on the case study of the National Center of Biopreparations that belongs BioCubaFarma, as part of the Higher Organization for Company Management.

Methods and techniques:

Human resources categorization and training statistics collected between 2002 and 2020 were used in the study. The current legislation, the policies of science, technology, and innovation, and the international bibliography were consulted. Additionally, expert criteria were gathered, and weaknesses, threats, strengths, and opportunities in technological training and categorization were identified. Main results: Actions for capturing, developing, and renovating the technological potential were designed, which included speeding up doctoral education, diversifying training in management and production economy, increasing moral and material incentives in order to meet the requisites for categories.

Conclusions:

The conception of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro in relation to comprehensive training of the staff, their dedication, ethical and moral principles, and the service to people, laid the foundations for the constitution of high-tech companies. Technological categorization is pivotal to convert the results of science into goods and services, with a high amount of knowledge and higher value added. A greater impact is expected on healthcare and the economy as a result of becoming a high-tech company. Organizations of this kind should focus on capturing, developing, and renovating the technological capital as the main way to achieve further developments.
