Abstract

YERO PITA, Diana Rosa  and  SOUTO ANIDO, Lourdes. Causal Relationships between the Variables that Influence Local Development. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2022, vol.166, n.1  Epub Jan 01, 2022. ISSN 0252-8584.

Local development, at a global level, is of great importance. For this reason, the objective of this research is to identify those variables that influence its development and to show the causal relationships between them. In order to measure the level of influence between the different variables, a structural analysis matrix is created, based on the criteria of experts. This is processed with MIC-MAC software and then the theories of forgotten effects are used to study the direct and indirect causal relationships. Among the main results obtained, it can be highlighted that local development is an integral development process, which combines different dimensions. It is very important to bear in mind that when indirect relationships are analyzed, forgotten effects are obtained, which should be paid attention to when working in terms of local development.

Keywords : relationships of causality; theory of forgotten effects; variables.
