The present text is aimed at presenting part of the debate on scientific and technology production for the social inclusion, mainly as it has been considered in the Secretaría Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología para la Inclusión Social (SECIS), and by the Brazilian Ministerio de Ciencias, Tecnología e Innovación (MCTI), as from the contributions of authors that have gone over the topic of social sciences, with an emphasis on the production of science and technology in Latin America, and the participation of civil society organized in the formulation of the science and technology policy agenda.

Keywords : politized social sciences; popularization of science and technology; production and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
